This sauerkraut slaw recipe is tart and salty with a hint of sweetness from the addition of chopped apples. It comes together in just a few minutes and will keep for at least a week in the fridge, getting tastier every day. For fun, try any of our krauts with it and serve it with your favorite bratwurst or alongside any grilled meats. When you drain the kraut, be sure to save the juice for things like cocktails, salad dressings and more. Details here.

Kasie
Sounds great but do you drain the sauerkraut before adding other ingredients?
The wild Bunch
Hi Kasie – Good catch! Thank you! Yes, you need to drain it first. We will change that in the recipe. And here are many ways you can use that delicious kraut juice.
Herman
How long can I keep in refrigerator after opening.
The wild Bunch
Hi Herman – As long as your wildbrine products are kept in the fridge with the brine covering all of the solids – the brine is a natural preservative – it’ll be good until at least 1-2 months past the expiration date printed on the package.
